Free Sample from ‘Through Water & Ruin’ – The Chesterfield Flood Book Everyone’s Talking About

I’ve been meaning to share some of Through Water & Ruin for a while, and I’m glad to have finally been able to.

As you may already know, this is a physical-only book. That’s because it’s a LumiNovel — a format where how you interact with the book is just as important as the story itself. Digital screens vary wildly in size, resolution, and aspect ratio, which makes it difficult to design a consistent, immersive experience across devices. I’ve talked more about that in previous blog post, which you can read [here].

That said, I completely understand the need to see what a LumiNovel looks like before committing to it. So, I’ve included images of selected pages and spreads below to give you a feel for the book.

Just a quick note: Through Water & Ruin is printed at 8 x 10 inches (203 × 254 mm), and every visual detail has been carefully designed to shine at that size. While viewing on a phone or small screen will give you a good sense of the content and style, it won’t fully capture the experience this book was made to deliver.

How did you find it? The illustrations are beautiful right? Well we have my graphic designer Meg to thank for those. She did a fantastic job!

There are over 50 photos in this, most of which you have yet to see! There are a lot more illustrations to. If you want your own copy you can get one below:
